We want to be a Foster Family
As a foster Family, watching these dogs come in, either too skinny, too sick, or just in need of love and understanding, and then transforming into healthy and spoiled babies is really the most rewarding act you can imagine.
Foster and Adoption Home Visit Volunteers
Every potential foster home must pass a Home Visit. This helps us ensure the animal is the right fit for the new family as well as ensuring that our rescue animals are being placed into the best environment possible for their individual needs. Home Visits can be scheduled at the convenience of the volunteer and the foster family. Honest, timely, and accurate reporting of the prospective home is a must. Home Visits are a quick and easy task but are one of the most important things we do as a rescue. Guidelines will be provide to anyone who volunteers.
Transport Volunteers
We have periodic need to transport a dog from an intake location or vet to a foster home in another part of the state. Safe, and effective, transport is critical helping the rescue function. Transport requests will be created by the Transport Coordinator and presented to the volunteers who can drive a “leg” of the trip. All mileage is tax-deductible. Reliable transportation is a must.
Fundraiser Volunteers
BHRA relies on the generosity of individuals and the community. The Fundraiser Volunteer will work closely with the Fundraiser Coordinator to help create, design, shape fundraising events and non-events that will encourage support in our cause.
